| St.
Stephen ECD & Preschool is the only preschool designed specifically
for children with
food allergies. We provide a safe and secure environment free
from trigger foods known to cause allergic reactions. We also utilize a
multi-filtration air system on the school premises. Our school's
atmosphere allows for children between the ages of 2 1/2 to 5 to learn
in an environment that is beneficial to all. Our allergy-friendly atmosphere has been nationally recognized by the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network.
In addition to our unique health component, St. Stephen
Preschool offers quality preschool programs. We employ award winning and published teachers to provide a valuable education for our preschool students. For more information
regarding our educational approach, please read about our classroom information. We also work with the St. Louis Special School District, the
Belle Center, and the Scottish Rite Center for referrals and therapists. We have three full time staff members and three part time staff members in order to keep our low student to teacher ratio. To our knowledge, we are the
only school in the nation specifically designed for the care and safety
of children with asthma and allergies.
School hours are 8
a.m. - 3 p.m., Monday through Friday (except holidays). The school year currently
runs
from the beginning of September through the end of June. We offer
half-day preschool, as well as half day or full day supporting classes
to accommodate your child's educational needs.
Please note we
have an open door policy, but due to our security measures, access is
limited
to the building. A staff member must let you in. Please ring the
bell or call when you have arrived and we will be happy to show you
around
the school.
